Dental Implants at Beyond Dental

Dr.Nguyen conducts the most complex and challenging dental implant orthodontic procedures as well. Dental implant surgery is totally a six to nine months process; it is not as simple as two to three sittings required for a root canal or visiting a dentist for braces. The proper candidate for a dental implant is the person having broken, missing, or a decaying tooth in a very bad shape that cannot be saved with a root canal. Dental implants protect an individual mouth’s bone and gum atrophy.

The implant surgeon has to make sure that the gum and bone structure is sufficient to support an implant, or one has to first go for a longer procedure of bone graft and gum lift. The modern implant material is Titanium rods. Though this kind of implants is practiced since the 1950s, this procedure’s initial evidence has its historical background in Egypt.

Dental implant for a single tooth is a one to two hours process. Titanium rods are inserted into the bone beneath the gum region with no tooth. The scarred site requires one to two weeks to heal, therefore, the patient is kept on a soft diet. The patient is sedated or given anesthesia for a pain-free process but it is obvious that patient feels pain, discomfort, and bruising in the initial days of the procedure. Once the implant fuses with adjacent bone, the patient needs to visit after six months according to his healing to get the lasting crown placed, which is durable and has the look and function of a natural tooth.
